Top 10 Tips to Glow Like the Stars:
With just a few simple steps, you can become the most beautiful person in the room! These tips will help you get there, no matter your skin tone or hair colour or body type.
Follow these 10 easy steps and you’ll be well on your way to glowing like the stars!
1) Sleep 7–9 hours every night
Just as you need food for energy, your body needs sleep for a full restoration of your energy stores. Sleep is vital to keeping you looking and feeling your best. If you’re only getting six hours of sleep every night, it’s time to make some changes.
Use warm milk with honey and lavender essential oil before bedtime. Also, try some yoga stretches or an aromatherapy candle before hitting snooze in the morning! Sleep also helps rid your skin of impurities, so drink green tea every day.
Chlorophyllin found in green tea has been shown to help promote healthy blood flow, which helps improve your complexion.
After finishing up these exercises (and also following another 7 tips), go out into the sunlight for about 5 minutes and then apply some sunscreen if you’re going outside for longer than that period.
Sunscreen isn’t just important because it protects against sunburn; studies have found that people who regularly use sunscreen have fewer lines around their eyes than those who don’t protect themselves from UV rays with SPF 30+ products. Whether they’re fake or not, glowing skin is beautiful—and something we all want!
2) Wake up early in the morning
Waking up early in the morning will help you get a lot of stuff done before other people are awake and getting ready for work or school. Getting an early start gives you time to meditate, exercise, drink tea and enjoy breakfast without having to rush.
Waking up even just an hour earlier than usual can have a big impact on your energy level throughout your day; it may also be enough time for you to squeeze in yoga or make a healthy breakfast for yourself! Waking up early isn’t for everyone, but those who do manage to find success often feel more accomplished during their days—and always fall asleep easier at night. Plus, many places provide free yoga classes first thing in the morning—so there’s no excuse not to give it a try!
If waking up early is too much at first, experiment with setting your alarm clock 15 minutes earlier each week until you reach your desired wake-up time. To really go all out, why not try waking up with music?
3) Clean your skin twice a day
Your skin will only glow if it’s clean and healthy. Make sure you wash it twice a day with your favourite facial cleanser, paying special attention to areas that tend to get oily throughout the day like your T-zone.
Avoid harsh, drying soap that can strip moisture from your skin—and keep in mind that while many toners are alcohol-based, they can leave behind residue, making it difficult for your moisturizer or sunscreen to absorb.
Additionally, all those exfoliating beads found in some face washes may seem like a good idea when you’re buying them at CVS but have you ever actually tried scrubbing them into an open wound? Exactly!
4) Use good quality products for your face
Some stars will tell you that they don’t wear makeup because it doesn’t look natural. That, however, is a misconception—many of Hollywood’s leading ladies do in fact wear cosmetics. They just make sure they use good quality products and are easy on their skin with gentle cleansing routines when they wash it off.
If you want glowing skin like a starlet, treat your skin with care by using high-quality products and following a routine that helps minimize drying and irritation. Harsh cleansers should be replaced with milder alternatives (we love Dove, Alba Botanica, Avene).
Moisturizers are also key; a dab around eyes and lips can reduce signs of ageing for an instant glow from within effect. Be sure to also moisturize dry spots gently every day after bathing. Soaps should also be mild; anything too harsh can damage or irritate sensitive facial areas resulting in redness or breakouts.
5) Stay hydrated throughout the day
There’s a reason it’s recommended that you drink at least eight glasses of water per day: It helps keep your skin hydrated and supple. Stay hydrated by drinking water when you feel thirsty, and try adding a slice of lemon or lime—or both!—to each glass.
Lemons and limes have natural bleaching agents that can help even out your skin tone, so don’t be surprised if someone mistakes you for a sunbather after just one week of daily sips. If you want to take things up a notch, add some aloe vera juice as well; studies have shown that it can help reduce skin pigmentation over time with regular application.
6) Drink tea
Whether you drink green tea, black tea, white tea or some other concoction, make sure you’re drinking it for its health benefits—not as a way to try and flush out your system. Tea can be beneficial for detoxing, but it should always be consumed mindfully (i.e., not while lounging on a beach in Mexico).
The point of an actual cleanse is to give your digestive system and body a break from having to digest food every day; too much stimulation can lead to breakouts and bloating.
7) Eat well
While it’s important to eat well in general, when you want that coveted glow, you need lots of fresh fruits and veggies. They contain many vitamins and minerals that will help your skin look healthy and vibrant. Spinach, for example, is a fantastic source of iron that helps red blood cells carry oxygen throughout your body.
Similarly, carrots are full of beta-carotene which gives them their golden colour—and also works as an antioxidant in your body! Fruits like papaya and berries have tons of vitamin C which can keep your skin looking young and prevent wrinkles from forming. Protein sources like nuts, eggs, or fish work wonder for glowing skin too; they contribute to maintaining elasticity so wrinkles don’t appear as easily.
And dairy products do double duty because calcium prevents both wrinkles (it keeps connective tissue strong) while promoting cell growth (making new ones!)
8) Wear sunscreen
The number one tip for glowing like a star? Avoid burns. Sunscreen protects your skin from UV rays, but it’s not just about avoiding tan lines (although those are bad). When you’re exposed to sunlight, your body produces vitamin D in your skin. And vitamin D has been linked with decreased risk of heart disease and cancer, along with increased bone health and memory.
Wear sunscreen every day for glowing results. Use protection when appropriate, regardless of whether you have your sights set on stardom or just want to save some cash at Coachella. It’s worth remembering that SPF doesn’t actually mean sun protection factor. It actually means sunburn protection factor.
Your degree of burn is based on time exposed and percentage of unprotected skin—that is, after spending time unprotected at sea level on a clear sunny day. That said, SPF15 prevents 93 per cent of UVB damage. SPF30 will prevent 97 per cent—enough to make up for squinting if you miss that spot during application.
9) Massage your face regularly
Seriously, it’s so easy! Grab some olive oil and/or coconut oil—the good for your skin kind of oils—and massage your face with light pressure. If you’re feeling fancy, get yourself a nice lavender or tea tree essential oil (they do wonders) and add a few drops in with your olive or coconut oil before massaging. Remember:
You don’t need to spend tons of money on fancy spa treatments or products to look good; just use what you have at home! Relaxing massages are also fantastic because they activate blood flow in your facial area which is beneficial for keeping things youthful and looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Plus, that face massage thing always makes me feel better. And did I mention how great people will think you smell after adding these oils? So worth it!

10) Maintain a calm body and mind
We’re all creatures of habit, but when it comes to our health, it’s a good idea to shake things up every once in a while. The same goes for your skincare routine: If you go into a ritual without considering what your body and mind need, you might be missing out on more than just extra minutes in bed. Read more…
With that in mind, here are some top-10 tips for glowing like a star no matter how stressed or relaxed you may feel: Turn off notifications before bedtime. Every time your phone buzzes with an alert, cortisol—the stress hormone—is released into your bloodstream; likewise, a quick glance at Facebook before lights out can send adrenaline pumping through your veins.
De-stress after work by doing something relaxing (like taking a bath) instead of scrolling through Facebook or Instagram until you nod off to sleep; instead of looking at screens before going to sleep look at white walls or black walls, they have been proven in studies to improve melatonin levels which helps with sleeping better and reduces stress levels as well! Changing pillowcases frequently is also great! Read more…
